Absolutely incredible food. This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend of mine who has done a lot of work in Ethiopia and said this was truly the most authentic. She was absolutely right! So incredibly delicious and fresh and you cannot beat the prices!

We loved Awash! We came on a Wednesday around 6:30 and it was busy but not full. The food was absolutely delicious and seemed pretty reasonably priced. There were three of us and we ordered the awaze tibs and the veggie combo with fish - we had a lot left over and probably could have done without the fish, but it was SO good so I'm glad we tried it! This was a perfect spot for dinner and I am so glad I got my Ethiopian food fix. We will definitely be back!

Last time I had done a review here for Yelp was a decade ago! Wow! I've been coming here since the late 90's for a reason. Incredible food and great prices. The best Ethiopian restaurant I've ever been to! I need to come more often. I was craving it and decided to take the drive. It was well worth it! Family owned and loved! Casual ambiance. Service was great and friendly. I even got an extra injera.

I've had Ethiopian food before at a different restaurant and was left underwhelmed. I'm glad I had a chance to try it again at Awash because now I know how good it can get. It's been a couple days and I'm still thinking of that delicious injera. For three people, we got the veggie combo, awaze tibbs and kitfo. Take note, their portions are huge. We stuffed ourselves and still left with two huge takeout containers. Service was lovely too, and unlike some other reviews I did not find the wait excessive. I can't wait to come back and try more!

Came to this place because someone recommended it. Glad we did coz everything was delicious. It's a hole in the wall place and seems like the locals frequent here. There were 7 of us and ordered the meat plate, veggie plate and 1 fish and we still had leftovers. Unfortunately they don't serve Ethiopian coffee here or any coffee.

This is a DOWN HOME Ethiopian restaurant! Very run down, hole in the wall decor. It adds to the charm. Not sure why people commented on the wait. We were served quickly & efficiently by a very friendly server. FOOD WAS SO GOOD. We both got the veggie combo & spice tea. Huge portions (which a ate all of thank you very much), tasty & fresh. $50 including tip! Most affordable meal I've had in LA in a long time

Best veggie combo ever. Thibbs were really good. Kitfo was average - could have used more flavor. Service slow but they were trying. The food is excellent and that's what's most important.

Awash is a no frills place that'll serve your soul. The food is authentic, zesty, hearty and flavorous. The portion sizes put a big smile on my face. Needless to say, you will not leave Awash hungry. The only downside is that the service is on the slower side. I think there's only a few people cooking in the kitchen, so be prepared to wait a bit if you arrive after 6:30. That said, the food is well worth the wait. Our veggies, beef and chicken were sautéed with flavors, spices, and sauces that are out of this world. A five star meal for sure!
